Hi! My name's Stephanie. I'm currently living in the wilds of Salem, Oregon, having just moved here from Eugene, a really great (and somewhat smaller) city known for its art, really kickass rave scene, and more than just a couple of eco-activists that, by now, are rather well known, world-wide (Jeffery Leurs being one of the many to have made his home there). I've been studying magick for a fairly long while, now, starting off with Wicca before being shown the works of Peter Carroll by an online buddy of mine, and have been a chaote ever since. Currently, I've been working pretty deeply with the runes and the Norse gods for a little while now, and have greatly enjoyed the work I've done in that paradigm thus far. However, deep down, I've always been a Discordian at heart, and have found the teachings of our great Mama Eris to have spoken to me ever since I became a chaote many years ago.
Aside from that, I'm a huge reader who'se working on getting back into writing as much as she once did. My main love is science-fiction, fantasy, and a bit of horror, with my favorite authors being (among others) Phillip K. Dick, Octavia Butler, and the fabulous, incredible works of H.P. Lovecraft. I also have a few choice comics that I've really gotten into, namely "Y, the Last Man," "The Invisibles," "Sandman," and, my absolute favorite by far "Testament," by Douglass Rushkoff. I'm going to be taking a course on the media, and how it shapes our ideas of what makes things "cool," through Maybe Logic Academy fairly soon...the details of which can be found here: http://www.maybelogic.org/courses2.htm I'm also an avid role playing gamer as well, preffering live action to table top games, but have played many a table-top game as well, and greatly enjoyed them. While I enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, my main love is White Wolf (the old games, not the newer versions after White Wolf changed the storylines for, well, pretty much all of them). Aside from that, I've been fairly active in gay rights politics, working over the past several years to make sure that equal rights are (finally!) to everyone across the U.S. It's not until we're all seen as equals that this country will truly be free, and my activism along these lines is my way of making sure this happens. Well, that's about all for me! Looking forward to meeting up with folks out there on the net, and talking to you all soon!
